International Climate Science Coalition appoints new Executive Director
Canada’s Tom Harris to lead group coordinating climate realists and providing counterbalance to UN climate alarmism
North Shore City, New Zealand, March 13, 2008 – The Founding Chairman of the International Climate Science Coalition, Mr. Terry Dunleavy, MBE, JP of New Zealand, has announced the appointment of Tom Harris as the new Executive Director of the coalition. Previously Executive Director of the Natural Resources Stewardship Project, the Ottawa, Canada-based Mr. Harris brings to the coalition thirty years experience working as a mechanical engineer and project manager, science and technology communications professional and media and S&T advisor to a former Opposition Environment Critic. Mr. Harris’ basic education is in thermo-fluids and energy sciences and he has Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
For the past ten years Mr. Harris has been working with a growing team of independent scientists and engineers to promote a sensible approach to range of energy and environmental topics, climate change in particular. His main focus has been the highly controversial science underlying these issues.
The International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) is an association of scientists, economists and energy and policy experts working to promote better public understanding of climate change science and policy worldwide. ICSC is committed to providing a highly credible alternative to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) thereby fostering a more rational, open discussion about climate issues. ICSC will promote a new level of international cooperation and information sharing among climate realist scientists and organizations.
