To the editor:

It is a pity that Gareth Morgan has not revisited climate science since he wrote his book. Had he done so, he would have discovered that the world has not warmed for the last 10 to 15 years, that the oceans are cooling and that the warming of the Antarctic peninsula (5% of Antacrtica) could be due to geothermal activity.

Top climate scientists–including our own Drs Wratt and Renwick - now “expect" that global warming might return “within decades". The IPCC has said virtually the same thing.

Virtually everything Gareth claims is based on computer models which, so far, have proved to be spectacularly wrong in their predictions. There is more and more evidence that they misinterpret the effect of clouds.

If we look at history, sunspots tell us that cooling is more likely than warming. Cooling is definitely bad for the world.
