UN SECRETARY GENERAL CONTINUES TO IGNORE CLIMATE REALISTS

December 12, 2014: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon demonstrated that he remains out of touch with the realities of climate science when he asserted on Tuesday that "Science has not only spoken – it is shouting from the rooftops. Our planet has a fever – and it is getting hotter every day."

On three occasions, leading climate experts have explained, via widely publicized open letters delivered to Mr. Ban's office, where he is going wrong on the science:

The Secretary General did not even acknowledge receipt of the open letters, let alone address any of the scientists’ concerns.

CLIMATE SCIENTISTS AGREE - GLOBAL WARMING HAS STOPPED

November 19, 2014: "If 97% of Scientists Say Global Warming is Real, 100% Say It Has Nearly Stopped," by Paul C. “Chip” Knappenberger and Patrick J. Michaels, Center for the Study of Science, Cato Institute, published as a guest essay on Watts Up With That?, The world's most viewed site on global warming and climate change, Chico, California.

"Of the 100 papers we identified, 65 didn’t have anything to do with recent global temperature trends (these typified papers published prior to about 2010). Of the remaining 35 papers, every single one of them acknowledged in some way that a hiatus, pause, or slowdown in global warming was occurring.

"In other words, we didn’t find a single paper on the topic that argued the rate of global warming has not slowed (or even stopped) in recent years. This is in direct opposition to the IPCC’s contention that global warming is accelerating, and supports arguments that the amount of warming that will occur over the remainder of the 21st century as a result of human fossil fuel usage will be at the low end of the IPCC projections, or even lower. Low-end warming yields low-end impacts."

LUCTOR ET EMERGO - SCHOLARLY REVIEW OF SEA LEVELS ISSUES

December 1, 2014: The question of whether and by how much sea levels may rise or fall under the influence of "global warming" has been rekindled in New Zealand by the recent release of a report by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Jan Wright. It is apparent that whatever other advice Dr. Wright may have relied on, the year-old report by NZCSC scientist Dr. Gerrit van der Lingen was not one of them. For that reason, it is timely to make that well-researched 29-page report available here. It has been highly recommended for its depth and scholarship by no less an authority than Professor Freeman Dyson.
