November 7, 2013: "Scientific Critique of IPCC’s 2013 'Summary for Policymakers'", by Drs. Craig Idso, ICSC Chief Science Advisor Robert Carter, S. Fred Singer, and Willie Soon, scientists and lead authors or chapter lead authors of Climate Change Reconsidered II: Physical Science, a report of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC).

"The new SPM [Summary for Policy Makers]reveals the IPCC has retreated from at least 11 alarmist claims promulgated in its previous reports or by scientists prominently associated with the IPCC. The SPM also contains at least 13 misleading or untrue statements, and 11 further statements that are phrased in such a way that they mislead readers or misrepresent important aspects of the science."

Editor's note: The IPCC are now in the process of tuning the underlying science report that the SPM is supposed to be summarizing so as to match the SPM that was agreed to line by line by government representatives (as per official UN IPCC procedures - see here). Were this a science-driven process and not a politically-driven one, the Summary would be tuned to match the science report. Regardless, since the draft science report is currently being edited to match the already determined SPM, the above critique of the SPM can be considered as a critique of the UN IPCC Working Group-1 report in general.
